Hidup Sebagai Minimalist

Alhamdulillah, still have a chance to write in my blog...

Today is Sunday, Malaysia is currently facing the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. Selangor is affected too although the epicentre of the outbreak is currently Sabah, due to PATI and also the recent elections. The decision to hold elections in spite of rising number of cases made many including me aghast...

Since starting my new job in August 2020, Alhamdulillah now I'm very much a morning person.

7am and I thought of writing about being a minimalist.

Briefly looked through my blog and couldn't find any previous post that I could add on to.

So it started around the time I was working as a SHO or medical officer in Ireland.

We were staying in Dublin, but I was working in Mullingar Hospital, about 80km or 55miles drive away and I decided to rent a house with another friend, Dr Maisara who was also working in the same place. I remember one of the chats with other doctors about working outside of Dublin...though I cant remember who said it.

She said 'its amazing the stuff you don't need'.

She would pack a bag for the week, Monday to Friday, and then come back to Dublin during the weekends.

That statement sort of made me think, although I ended up commuting between Dublin and Mullingar for the rest of the three months...tiring but somehow I managed.

I try to buy only things I need, and what I don't need, I would try to give away as soon as possible. This prevents hoarding.

I know it isn't easy. As humans, we have this tendency of not wanting to let go, so I would tell myself, if I keep this book, for example, I would most probably not read it again, but if I gave it away, to someone who needs it, then that person will get benefit from the book. Just citing book as an example. but the principle can certainly be applied to anything else.
