Renewing Indonesian Maids Passport

October 28 near Petaling Jaya

Anyone recently renewed Indonesian maid's passport (*not visa*), please share if there are any new regulations/policies since the last 3 years.

1. Is it still a must for the registered employer to accompany the maid or are we back to the previous 'agent is adequate'.

2. Does it require medical insurance cover as per 3 years ago.

3. For KL embassy, apparently the one up North was more lax.

  Nana Arshad Did ours in May, these were the observations.
  - if employer not able to make it, letter of authority must be given to whomever accompanying the maid
  - insurance still necessary
  - prove that maid is being paid adequately (min is RM700 now) although this one was still a bit lax
  
  Waiting time is better now though.

  Chetz Moorthy This time( in June 2013), done through the agent ( my maid went along ) the validity of passport was given 5 years compared to the 2 previous occasions given 3 years only.

  Kuan Poh Foo Try to get a standard maid employment contract copy from the embassy and make sure that you comply with their min wage 700rgt.
  Yes, the officer would like to interview you & your maid about the wages & her living condition. Very simple & easy, ask your maid to in for the queue and call you in when the number come your turn.

    Mazlyn Mustapha Thanks Nitahain. I think I missed an article posted by Jefri Mohamed-Muslim (or was it someone else; not sure) on cramps and what to do about them or prevent them. Hope you have something similar, or Jefri or Aizal Che Hamzah can repost?

    For me, I think I had cramps due to lack of training. Never had it for any other distances. Maybe more seasoned Nitahain can advice.

    Din Sofia Jefri Mohamed-Muslim ..that one good... BUT make sure you eat no sos... i use to eat pasta with tuna Ayam brand mayo but no spicy ... plus u may mix pasta with Salmon or eggs..
