When I was a medical student not too long ago, I remember one doctor said, no pharmaceutical company would want to study the prevention of diabetes.

On my way to the gym this morning, everyone else was heading for breakfast. There was only one other person at the gym and the pool was empty. I wonder..maybe everyone exercises in the evening?

  Hanif Ismail Exercises are not that hard to do. But eating right is a challenge. Most offerings are not that healthy. Nak masak sendiri malas (e.g. x reti :-) )

I find that it is easier to get a bank loan to be approved for them than a life insurance coverage! Past 3 years averagely yearly 45 new applicants 70% of them 1st round failed in medical examinations due to:- 1 to 3 of the MBS:- metabolism syndrome:
  1) overweight;
  2) raise lipid;
  3) raise liver enzyme;
  4) raise sugar level;
  5) uncontrolled BP
  6) Uric acid
  7) presence of protein in urine
  8) smoking...

  Aidora Abdullah Mazlyn Mustapha...for the working class like me, we have to go to work in the morning, not the gym. We are all not as fortunate as you to be able to work out in a gym on a weekday morning. Plus, not everyone likes working out in a gym. My point here: whatever suits your lifestyle, but living healthy is necessary.

  Hood Thabit Actually, not strictly true. There are several pharma sponsored trials now looking at prevention of diabetes, using their agents of course.

  Tiong Chooi Dang That is the consequence of Businessmen No time for a regular exercise! So docs... Let's start a monitoring program for them... A regimented schedule exercise program with monitoring program;- charge them rm3k to 20k for a 3 month periods

  Hood Thabit Top of my head, one's I've cited in the past are : LEAD study using liraglutide in prediabetes, RIOdiabetes using rimonabant (withdrawn) , ActNow using pioglitazone and DPP using metformin. I'm sure there are more.
